Sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee

Wow! Today was a beautiful day on Lake Winnipesaukee. The weather
was iffy and it turned out to be just wonderful.

We did our shakedown cruise on the sailboat. What a great day! We
weren't sure we were going to go out today. The weather called for a nice
afternoon with possible showers. So, we decided to go out anyway.

That's the beauty of living in the lakes region of New Hampshire. If
you have a few hours then you can take the time to go for a sail or a cruise.

When we started, there was no wind. Should we stay home and mow the
grass or go to the lake? The grass will be there tomorrow, so why not just
go and enjoy the lake today. When we got there, there wasn't much of a
breeze. We had lunch and set up the sailboat anyway.

As we're getting started, my husband Dave said it was going to be an easy
sail. So he put up the large sail. As we're keeling over and the
water is lapping against the portholes, he decides that perhaps we need a
smaller sail.

There were major gusts of wind, then steady breezes, the wind coming from all
directions, etc. It was great! The smaller sail made the day
perfect.

It was so nice to feel the warm breeze against your face as opposed to the
chill wind of the winter. It's been a slow start to summer, especially
since we had a few cold days last week. Summer weather is finally here and
it's the perfect time to go out and enjoy Lake Winnipesaukee.
