Local events in the NH lakes region offers everyone some really fun things to enjoy in the Lake Winnipesaukee area all year round.
May 10, 2009 - Mother's Day brunch cruise on the M/S Mount Washington Take your mother out on a special 2 1/2 cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee this Mother's Day. Mom will enjoy breathtaking views, a buffet brunch and live entertainment. May 15-17, 2009 - 28th Annual Winni Fishing Derby This is one of the popular local events in the area. Come join the fun and register for the Winni Fishing Derby. Perhaps you could win one of the great prizes. Check out the Winni Fishing Derby for more information
May 23, 2009 - Fireworks at Funspot on Route 3 in the Weirs Kick off the summer with fireworks and music. 10:00pm start time. Rain date is Sun, May 24.
May 23-25, 2009 - 18th Annual Memorial Weekend Craft Festival At Mill Falls Marketplace in Meredith Show Hours - Sat 10-6; Sun 10-5; Mon 10-4
June 6, 2009 - 6th Annual Kainen M. Flynn Fishing Derby This fishing derby is for the kids and is held at Gunstock from 8:00am - 1:30pm. Check out the Kainen M. Flynn Fishing Derby for more information.
June 7, 2009 - Kids Spring Fishing Derby This fishing derby is a wonderful event for kids. It is held at Gunstock at begins at 9:00am. Jun 26-28, 2009 - NASCAR NEXTEL Series NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. See the final push to qualify for the Sprint Cup Championship at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Check out NHMS for details.
Jul 4-5, 2009 - 38th Annual Gunstock Arts and Crafts Festival Located at Gunstock Recreation Area, Route 11A Show hours 10-5 both days.
Jul 4, 2009 - 4th of July Celebration at Weirs Beach Fireworks at midnight
Jul 4, 2009 - Laconia July 4th Celebration Come watch the parade through downtown Laconia to Opechee Park. Fireworks at 10:00pm. Rain date July 5th.
July 18-19, 2009 - 20th Annual Craft Fair at the Bay This event takes place at the Community House and Grounds on Route 11 Show is from 10:00am - 5:00pm Free admission.
July 24-25, 2009 - 36th Annual Antiques and Classic Boat Show This is one of our favorite local events that takes place at the Meredith town docks. Boat show is from 9:00am - 4:00pm It's worth going to and you can enjoy the views of Lake Winnipesaukee.
Jul 29 - Aug 2, 2009 - 5th Annual Soulfest in the Lakes Region Another one of our local events in the NH lakes region is Soulfest. This huge multi-day music event attracts over 15,000 people. It takes place at Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford. Come and enjoy some wonderful Christian music plus outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, mountain biking and more. Aug 8, 2009 - Belmont Old Home Day - at Belmont Village off Rtes 140 and 106 The theme is "To Be Announced" - It all starts with the pancake breakfast at 7am, the parade is at 1pm and it ends with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30pm.
Aug 8-9, 2009 - Annual Belknap County 4H Fair - Rte 106, Belmont on Mile Hill Rd. This fair offers entertainment, animal shows, food, exhibits and loads of fun.
Aug 14-16, 2009- Granite State Nationals Come see the cool cars at the Laconia Nationals. You'll find custom, hot rods, muscle cars and more. This is an exciting event for the whole family. This event takes place at Castle in the Clouds. For more information check outwww.rightcoastcars.com/shows/ln.
Aug 29, 2009 - Gilford Old Home Day - at Gilford village of Rte 11A. This all starts with a pancake breakfast at 7am and a parade at 10am. There are many vendors, food, entertainment in Gilford Field as well as a road race in the late afternoon. The evening ends with a performance at 8pm and fireworks directly after.
Aug 21-23, 2009 - Timberman Triathlon The race starts at Lake Winnipesaukee, Ellacoya State Park, Gilford. The short course begins on Aug. 22nd at 7:30am. The full course starts on Aug. 23rd at 7:00am. Log onto www.timbermantri.com for more information.
Also, don't forget to check out Family Fun Day cruises on the M/S Mount Washington. They're held every Friday in July and August from 9-3pm.
Family Party Nights are on Tuesdays in July and August from 6-8:30pm. These cruises on the M/S Mount Washington are great entertainment, the kids have a great time and it is one of our favorite local events..

Sept. 12, 2009 - Laconia Multi-Cultural Market Day This festival goes all day with many nations represented through arts, crafts and food.
Sep 18- 20, 2009 - NASCAR NEXTEL Series New Hampshire 100 and Heluva Good 125 Camping World Series East, New Hampshire 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Sylvania 300 NASCAR Sprint Cup. Check out NHMS for more information.
October 3-4, 2009 - Harvest Days Another wonderful local event that happens each fall is Harvest Days at Canterbury Shaker Village. This festival is all about the gifts of the land. Everyone enjoys the farm animals, garden tours, old-fashioned games, wagon rides, storytelling, music and more. Don't forget to try their famous chicken barbeque.
