May 11, 2008 - Mother's Day brunch cruise on the M/S Mount Washington

Take your mother out on a special 2 1/2 cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee this Mother's Day.  Mom will enjoy breathtaking views, a buffet brunch and live entertainment.

Cruises depart from Weirs Beach at 10:00am and 1:30pm

Boarding time is 30 minutes before departure

May 16-18, 2008 - 27th Annual Winni Fishing Derby

Come join the fun and register for the Winni Fishing Derby.  Perhaps you could win one of the great prizes.

May 23-25, 2008 - Laconia Nationals

Come see the cool cars at the Laconia Nationals.  You'll find custom, hot rods, muscle cars and more.  This is an exciting event for the whole family.  This event takes place at Gunstock.  For more information check out www.laconianationals.com.

Kick off the summer with fireworks and music.

Jun 27-29, 2008 - NASCAR NEXTEL Series

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  See the final push to qualify for the Sprint Cup Championship at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Jul 4-6, 2008 - 37th Annual Gunstock Arts and Crafts Festival

Located at Gunstock Recreation Area, Route 11A

Show hours 10-5 both days

Jul 4, 2008 - 4th of July Celebration at Weirs Beach

Fireworks at midnight

Jul 4, 2008 - Laconia July 4th Celebration

Come watch the parade through downtown Laconia to Opechee Park.

Fireworks at 10:00pm.  Rain date July 5th.

 

Jul 12-13, 2008 - 19th Annual Craft Fair at the Bay

This event takes place at the Community House and Grounds, Route 11.

Show hours 10-5 both days.

July 25-27, 2008 - 35th Annual Antiques and Classic Boat Show

This event takes place at the Meredith town docks.

Boat show is from 9:00am - 4:00pm

It's worth going to and you can enjoy the views of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Jul 30 - Aug 2, 2008 - 4th Annual Soulfest in the Lakes Region

This huge multi-day music event attracts over 15,000 people.  It takes place at Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford.  Come and enjoy some wonderful Christian music plus outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, mountain biking and more.  For more information check out www.thesoulfest.com.

 

Aug 9, 2008 - Belmont Old Home Day - at Belmont Village off Rtes 140 and 106

The theme is "To Be Announced" - It all starts with the pancake breakfast at 7am, the parade is at 1pm and it ends with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30pm.

Aug 23, 2008 - Gilford Old Home Day - at Gilford village of Rte 11A.

This all starts with a pancake breakfast at 7am and a parade at 10am.  There are many vendors, food, entertainment in Gilford Field as well as a road race in the late afternoon.  The evening ends with a performance at 8pm and fireworks directly after.

Aug 9-10, 2008 - Annual Belknap County 4H Fair - Rte 106, Belmont on Mile Hill Rd.

This fair offers entertainment, animal shows, food, exhibits and loads of fun.

Aug 15-17, 2008 - Timberman Triathlon

The race starts at Lake Winnipesaukee, Ellacoya State Park, Gilford.

The short course begins on Aug. 16th at 7:30am.

The full course starts on Aug. 17th at 7:00am.

Aug 23, 2008 - Jazz Festival - Great Water Music Festival - Wolfeboro

Concert begins at 8pm - Spend a wonderful evening listening to jazz.

Also, don't forget to check out Family Fun Day cruises on the M/S Mount Washington.  They're held every Friday in July and August from 9-3pm.

Family Party Nights are on Tuesdays in July and August from 6-8:30pm.  These cruises are great entertainment and the kids have a great time.

Sept. 6-8, 2008 - Alton Bay Craft Fair - Community House, Rte. 11

Oct. 4-5, 2008 - Autumn Craft Festival on the Lake - Mill Falls Marketplace, Rte. 3

Sept. 6, 2008 - Laconia Multi-Cultural Market Day

This festival goes all day with many nations represented through arts, crafts and food.

 

 

Sep 11- 14, 2008 - NASCAR NEXTEL Series

New Hampshire 100 and Heluva Good 125 Camping World Series East, New Hampshire 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series,  Sylvania 300 NASCAR Sprint Cup.  Check out NHMS for more information.

 

October 4-5, 2008 - Harvest Days

Another wonderful local event that happens each fall is Harvest Days at Canterbury Shaker Village.  This festival is all about the gifts of the land.  Everyone enjoys the farm animals, garden tours, old-fashioned games, wagon rides, storytelling, music and more.  Don't forget to try their famous chicken barbeque.  

October 3-5, 2008 - Octoberfest

Don't forget Gunstock's Octoberfest.  This event takes place  at Gunstock Mountain in Gilford.  Octoberfest events includes a Bavarian Band, German food and beer, chair lift rides to the Summit, contests, yodeling and more.
