Why I Created This Website

You're probably wondering why I want to build a website and spend so much time describing something I love so much...

In the past, people have asked why we go out on the boat so much. Some think it must be boring and others think how lucky we are to do this. Going out on the boat in the Lake Winnipesaukee area is like taking little mini vacations. It's so peaceful, there's no TV, no toys to fight over, just the "can we stop and swim?" question.

Since we haven't been able to go on real vacations to some tropical island paradise or something, we've decided to create our own vacations at home. We enjoy our mini vacations so much that we try to go out on the boat for a couple of hours during the week as well.

There must be other people like us or people that come up to Lake Winnipesaukee for a vacation and really want to know what there is to do. Since I love being on the lake so much, I thought I'd share my experiences with others.

But how am I going to share this information? Let me go back to the beginning and tell you how this website got started....

I grew up a landlubber. Sure, I went to the beach and pools to go swimming when I was young, but that was it. When I was around 16 or so, I was introduced to boats. First, I learned how to waterski on some small lakes in Massachusetts and then I went ocean sailing...that was the clincher.

I signed up for sailing classes and decided I needed to meet someone that had the same passion for boats. Well, I did. It so happened that he grew up on Lake Winnipesaukee and knew everything about boats. But he didn't own one.

Our first purchase together was a sailboat, then a ski boat and finally a house. Had to get those priorities straight!! Anyway, we moved up to the Lake Winnipesaukee area and have been loving it ever since.

How This Website Got Started

In order to enjoy our time on the lake we needed a way to bring in money that allowed us to take time off when we wanted. So, we started our own computer repair business. We decided to create a website for it ourselves. I don't think anyone ever clicked on it. When a competitor told us he wanted to make a new website for us for free, that opened our eyes. That site must have been pretty bad. Plus, we didn't know what we were doing.

I began researching everything about websites as well as extra ways to make money via the internet. That's when I came across Site Build It! You don't need to know anything technical. They walk you through everything step-by-step. Take a quick tour. All you need to do is the writing of content rich pages. Which is good, because all that "meta" stuff is Greek to me. That's why so many SBI sites are in the top 1% of internet sites. You can check out the results here.

So, I took the plunge. I wasn't sure what kind of a website I wanted to do, so I started a site on our business. This was difficult because I'm not technical and I had to get my husband's input before putting up a page. Well, I got tired of waiting for him to have the time to help me with the website. So I started a new site about Lake Winnipesaukee.

I'm having a great time writing about the Lake Winnipesaukee area. I now bring my camera with me for all activities. I can be a stay at home mom and still contribute financially. It's fun and I love it.

If I Can Do This So Can You!

There's nothing better than working at home. You don't have to get dressed up and rush out the door to be to work for 8am. If you've been toying with the idea of working at home, why not make it a successful one? It is a lot of work, but it's gratifying.

If you're a mom, just like me, or a Dad and would rather be there for the kids instead of sending them off to the babysitter, then this is a way to help out with the finances. You can work on your website when they're napping or in school. Plus, if kids are sick or there are snow days you're there for them.

See for yourself, download a free copy of WHAM-IT!, the Master's Course. Its easy to read and shows you how to start your own online business plus it shows you real life case studies of other work at home mothers.

Perhaps you'd rather have a site about your favorite hobby, fun activities or how to take care of elderly parents. SBI! is perfect for any of those and more. No matter if you're a stay at home mom or dad, unemployed, a student or just need extra income, this is a wonderful opportunity that you just might be looking for. It worked for me.

So many other people are doing the same thing. Sharing their passions. You can read about how ordinary people just like you and me have built their sites.

Remember, its not a get rich quick scheme. It takes a lot of work. But the gratification is wonderful.
