This summer enjoy your time in the Lake Winnipesaukee area.  There are a variety of things to do for the whole family.  You'll also find plenty to do to make the time away romantic.

 

M/S Mount Washington Cruises

 

For the remainder of the summer, you can enjoy dinner and/or evenings aboard the M/S Mount Washington every Monday through Saturday.

 

Every Friday you'll find theme cruises where the dinner and music are tailored to a particular theme.  Guests can enjoy themselves by dressing up in that theme.  Friday night cruises run from 7:30 -10:30pm.  As "The Mount" returns, you'll catch some fantastic fireworks displays at the Weirs.

 

Those with families will want to cruise the M/S Mount Washington on Tuesdays where there's a kid friendly meal, live entertainment, face painting and more.  This cruise starts at 6:00pm and returns at 8:00pm.

Don't forget, every Friday is fun day aboard the M/S Mount Washington.  The staff of "The Mount" entertains the children with fames and activities.  This cruises departs at 10:00am and 12:30pm.

Walking Tour

 

For the history buffs, the Meredith Village Walking Tours are a great way to learn about the history of Meredith.  These tours take place every Thursday evening in the summer at 6:45pm.  This tour will explain many facts such as "the great catastrophe," identify many places and buildings and much more.  For more information about the Meredith Village Walking Tour, contact Ann Sprague at (603)279-7172.

 

Streetcar Company Brings Theater To The Park

 

On August 4th and August 11th, the Streetcar Company will present a series of free one-act plays at Laconia Rotary Riverside Park next to the Belknap Mill.

 

On August 4th, the plays will feature "The Reunion," "The Mice Have Been Drinking Again," and "The Prisoner of Hazelton Ave." 

 

On August 11th, the plays will feature "The Red Balloon" and "Dinner With The McGuffins."

Rain dates are August 5th and August 11th respectively.

 

Shows begin at 7:00pm.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the evening plays.  Musical entertainment will be provided between the plays.  These shows are free to the public but they will gladly accept donations.

 

Belknap Mill Summer Concert Series

 

Every Thursday evening through August 21st, you can enjoy the popular summer concerts at the Rotary Riverside Park in downtown Laconia.  Concerts begin at 6:30pm.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the music

 

July 24 - High Range - roots/folk/bluegrass group

July 31 - East Bay Jazz - with the sound of the classic big bands

August 7 - Rusty Rockstar Roadshow - Rhythm and blues

August 14 - Bow Junction - traditional bluegrass tunes

August 21 - Carter Mountain Brass Band - performs classics of all types

 

Cruise Nights at the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum

 

Come and enjoy cruise nights on Monday evenings from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum located next to Funspot.  Bring your "cool cars" or just come by to look at them.  It's a fun time and brings back memories.

 

Winnipesaukee Playhouse Summer Season

 

Looking for something different to do in the evenings, perhaps on a rainy night?  The Winnipesaukee Playhouse offers a variety of plays through the summer.

 

July 23-August 2 - "Cliffhanger"

August 6-August 16 - "Almost Maine"

August 20-August 30 - "The Glass Menagerie"

Community Bandstand Concerts

 

Gilford - Every other Wednesday evening, the Gilford Community Band performs free concerts at the bandstand in Gilford Field on Belknap Mountain Road. The concerts begin at 7:30pm and showcase the talents of local community members.  They play concert band music that has older and newer show tunes, marches and concert soloists.  The shows are July 23, August 6, August 20 with the last concert on Saturday, August 23rd for Gilford Old Home Day.  The Community Band will be in the parade at 10:00am and perform a concert at in the evening at 8:00pm right before the fireworks.

 

Center Harbor - Every Friday evening the Center Harbor Community Band performs free concerts at the Center Harbor Bandstand on Lake Winnipesaukee.  The concerts begin at 7:00pm and run through August 15th.  These concerts showcase the talents of local community members and play various pieces from show tunes, marches and more.  On August 22, you can hear the sounds of Lisa Young and Company; on August 29, the Carter Mountain Brass Band will be playing.

 

Wolfeboro - The Friends of Wolfeboro Community Bandstand hold weekly Saturday evening concerts overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee.  The concerts begin at 7:30pm and last until about 9:30pm.

 

July 26 - Moose Mountain Jazz Band

August 2 - Seacoast Wind Ensemble

August 9 - The Blue Hill Brass Quintet

August 16 - Lisa Young and Company

August 23 - The New Legacy Swing Band

August 30 - The Min Hills Band

 

Wolfeboro Adventure Pass

 

See twice as much for half the price.  Purchase a $15 pass and get a 50% discount at The Wright Museum, Klickety Klack Railroad, Putter's Village and Molly the Trolley.  Plus get a free pewter key chain from Hampshire Pewter.

 

This is a great opportunity to experience some of Wolfeboro's popular attractions.  The adventure pass can be purchased at the participating attractions as well as The Wolfeboro Chamber of Commerce, Allen A. Motor Lodge, Lake Motel, Windrifter Resort, Lakeview Inn and Wolfeboro Inn.

 

Animaland at Winni's Woods

 

Make the day perfect for the young ones.  Kids will enjoy stuffing, dressing and naming their collectible animal.  There are 45 different species representing the animals that live in the woods surrounding Lake Winnipesaukee.  You can find Animaland at the Winnipesaukee Pier in the Weirs.

 

With all of these fun things to do, you'll keep pretty busy the rest of the summer.
