New Improved Look

The Lake Winnipesaukee Travel Guide has a new look

The Lake Winnipesaukee Travel Guide has been published for several years and it was time for a change.  Not every page has been converted over, but they will soon be updated.  You will notice there are three columns instead of two.  The right column will take you to some of the favorite pages that visitors are always checking out.  In the future, I may include other information that will help you with your vacation in the lakes region.

The middle column still has that great information that you are looking for.  It's just in a slightly new format so that it is easier to read.

The color scheme has been changed from the blues and greens to a muted sunrise color.  The sailboat in the header is hand painted by local artist, Kelly Nix.  You can find more information about her artwork and photographs at Kelly  Nix Studios.  She has several pieces of work for sale and is available for commission work as well.  If you would like more information or are interested in purchasing her artwork, then contact her at Kelly Nix Studios.

Places To Stay - Fresh Look

Updating this website has become the main project this spring.  I realized that more information was needed about the various hotels, motels, B&Bs, vacation rentals and so on.  You will find a listing of the various accommodations along with reviews so that you can make a decision on where the best place to stay is.  At the top of each type of accommodation, I have included a featured listing.  These featured listings will change throughout the year.  Some of them will be sponsored listings and others will change on a rotating basis.  Either way, this updated version of the accommodations pages will be easier to use and will help you find what you're looking for.  Here are the updated pages:  condos, vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts, hotels, inns and resorts, motels and cottages and campgrounds.

Places To Eat - More Categories

The places to eat pages have been revamped with many new categories.  The original types of restaurants are still there such as fine dining, mid-priced, low-priced, breakfasts, ice cream and coffee.  In addition, I have broken out the mid-priced into two groups - pub style and casual restaurant style.  Instead of having just three types of dining, I have added other groups.  You will find a Mexican food category, Asian cuisine, diners and drive-ins, pizza places and bakeries.  Many of these places have reviews as well.  Instead of putting them in alphabetical order, I tried to arrange them by town or area.  As I was looking a lot of this information up, I came across several restaurants that I can't wait to try.  They sound fabulous!

Summer Happenings

Of course, I have included the activities for the spring, summer and early fall.  I'm always anxious to get out and visit craft fairs, boat shows and the fishing derby.  Since it has been really cold this spring, not many people have posted dates for summer activities.  As the weather warms up, I will be adding new events to the line up.  So, be sure to keep checking them out.

If you would like to see any changes or have places, activities or events that should be added, then contact me to provide more information.
