June 2010 Newsletter Issue #010

In this issue:

  • Bike Week

  • Summer fun around Lake Winnipesaukee

  • Hiking

  • Your Stories

  • Now we offer advertising

  • Why I created this web site

Summer has arrived (unofficially.)  The spring has been exceptionally warm.  In fact, it's been downright hot on some of the days.  It feels good to be free of the cumbersome winter clothes and heat. and gets you all excited for the warm summer months.

We've already started the summer waterski season.  It all started with snow skiing in the morning and waterskiing in the afternoon on Easter weekend!  Nope, it wasn't me.  It was my husband Dave and his brother Steve.

Since then, we've been boating, waterskiing and swimming throughout May.  School's almost out for the summer and there are many summer activities planned which include sailing, boating, taking day trips and much, much more!

Bike Week

The Laconia bike week is starting this weekend and going through Father's Day with all kinds of activities and rides where you can find schedules online.  Although, space is filling fast, there could still be some places available if you call the local motels, campgrounds, hotels, etc.  Check out my accommodations page for places to stay.

This summer, there is also the craft fairs, NASCAR, fireworks, Antique Boat Show, Soulfest, Old Home Days and more.  Check out my local current events page for all that's happening.

What's New?

Over the last few months, I've had more of an interest in hiking around New Hampshire.  There are so many trails to hike, that you'll never get bored.  It's great exercise.  You'll find some new information about hiking with your dog, hiking the Appalachian Trail and hiking safety.  I will be adding more information about hiking supplies and gear in the near future.  So, check back often.

I'd love to hear your travel stories around Lake Winnipesaukee.  You can contribute to this web site your first hand experiences around the beautiful lakes region of New Hampshire. You can tell about your favorite eating establishment, place to stay, activities and more.  I'd love for you to write about your experiences at Lake Winnipesaukee.

Thinking you might want to advertise on Lake Winnipesaukee Travel Guide?  Are you spending too much on print advertising?  Advertising is now available.  Read my local web advertising page and contact me for details.

I've been working on this web site for a few years.  Many people have asked why I created a web site about Lake Winnipesaukee.  It's because I love the area and want to share my love and passion with others.  More....

If anyone would like to read about a particular topic in a future Winnipesaukee View issue or would like information added to the Lake Winnipesaukee Travel Guide web site, use the Contact Us form and let me know what your interests are.

Happy Travels!
